Update on emergency repairs to water supply main affecting the Kraaifontein and Joostenbergvlakte areas
5 June 2022
The City’s Water and Sanitation Department is still attending to emergency repairs to its 750mm diameter water supply main affecting the Kraaifontein and Joostenbergvlakte areas this morning.‘Most areas in Kraaifontein and Joostenbergvlakte areas will have experienced lower than usual water pressure as a result of the rerouted supply and some had no water as a result of the limitations for rerouting water supply in the network at the time. The situation has changed for the better with the additional pumped water supply which has been added to the rerouted water supply. Most of the affected areas should now have water.
‘The City sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused and assures residents the team is doing their level-best to complete the repairs in the shortest possible timeframe. We sincerely thank the residents in the affected areas for their patience during this period of inconvenience. The City is also investigating the cause of the damage to the water supply main,’ said Councillor Zahid Badroodien, Mayoral Committee Member for Water and Sanitation.
