On Wednesday, 15 June 2016 a certificate handver ceremony was held to recognise the effort of local community members who participated in a leadership training workshop.
'Our work simply wouldn’t be possible without an extraordinary network of people and partners who make our city a better place to live in. This takes work from all of us to make a difference. That’s why the Cape Town Mayoral Urban Regeneration Programme (MURP) is involved in such a wide range of projects, of which this forms part,' said Cllr Chantal Cerforntein, the chairperson of Subcouncil 22.
City working to uplift communities
The City is well-placed to identify opportunities for individuals, corporations and philanthropic organisations as it works with communities across Cape Town.
'Well done to the individuals who have made a special effort to attend the training programmes.Well done to the individuals who have made a special effort to attend the training programmes.
'I want to emphasise the importance of giving back to the community and that is exactly what these participants have learnt to do on the training programmes. We all want to see our communities develop and grow but we need our people to help us make it happen and therefore we must join hands and work together.
'Thanks are due to City Official Mr Patric Silo, the Interim Programme Coordinator for Cluster D: Mayoral Urban Regeneration Programme of the City’s Energy, Environmental, Spatial Planning Directorate, for his dedication and hard work,' said Cllr Cerfontein.
