The City of Cape Town’s Sport, Recreation and Amenities Department is once again hosting the annual Langa Youth Festival at the Langa Stadium with the aim of promoting social cohesion and community building through sport.
The festival will take place this weekend on 20 and 21 March 2016 between 09:00 and 16:00.
Sports activities for the whole family
Activities on the days will include boxing, netball, basketball, soccer, athletics, mind games, cricket, hockey, karate and rugby. The event promises to be fun for the whole family and includes participants of all ages.
The Langa youth festival is an initiative by the Sport, Recreation and Amenities Department to get more youth involved in participating in sport activities and away from social ills that are facing the community on a daily basis. The event also aims to promote various sporting codes, an active lifestyle and social cohesion in the community.
This event started four years ago and is growing each year with more than 2000 people expected to attend this year. All are welcome to attend.
