Homes delivered to first Bonteheuwel infill housing project beneficiaries

This project will ultimately benefit 273 families from Bonteheuwel and surrounds, once completed in June 2026.The Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Councillor Carl Pophaim and officials in the Human Settlements Directorate shared this special moment with the first beneficiaries.
‘The City is proud to celebrate the official handover of homes to the first 28 families of the Bonteheuwel Infill housing project. This is a milestone moment for us, and over the coming weeks and months we will be handing over more homes to the remaining beneficiaries. This project will ultimately benefit 273 families from Bonteheuwel and surrounds, once completed in June 2026.

‘The City remains committed to accelerating housing delivery and to uplifting communities across the metro. We thank the Bonteheuwel community, City Human Settlements officials and all partners for making this day possible,’ said Councillor Pophaim.

Beneficiaries of City housing projects are selected in accordance with the City's Housing Allocation Policy and Housing Needs Register to ensure housing opportunities are made available in a fair and transparent manner that prevents queue jumping and to those who qualify for housing as per the South African legislation.
