City working to restore water supply to Hout Bay Heights
17 January 2021
The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Department is currently conducting emergency repairs to a faulty valve on the water supply main to Hout Bay Heights. The water supply to the area has been shut off to enable the work to be done safely and also to prevent the water from running to waste.
The maintenance team is already onsite and the faulty valve has been prepared for replacement. It is anticipated that the water supply will be restored by 15:30.
A water tanker is stationed on the corner of Salamander and Karbonkel Roads to provide water for domestic use.
Residents are kindly requested to ensure that their taps are closed during this period to prevent any water loss and/or damage when the supply is restored.
The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that it maintains its water supply infrastructure to the benefit of its residents.
