City advises of water supply disruption to Brackenfell industrial area

17 March 2021

The City’s Water and Sanitation Department will be doing an upgrade on the main water supply network feeding the Brackenfell industrial area next week Tuesday.

The installation of the isolation valve will affect the water supply to part of the Brackenfell industrial area ,bounded by Okavango, Skakel and Old Paarl Roads and the railway line. The work will take place from 19:00 on Thursday, 18 March 2020 and is anticipated to be completed by 02:00 the following day, Friday, 19 March 2020. Due consideration was given to do the work at a time that was least disruptive.

Consumers in this area are kindly requested to ensure that they have sufficient water for the duration of this disruption and to ensure that their taps are closed while the repairs are in progress to avoid water loss or damage when the supply is restored.

A water tanker will be stationed on the corner of Lood and Riley Streets.

The City apologises for any inconvenience caused, however, it is imperative that the water supply infrastructure is maintained effectively to ensure a continued reliable supply of drinking water.

The City will notify customers who will be affected by the wider upgrade next Tuesday directly.
