The City’s Water and Sanitation Department will be completing the installation of an isolation valve on the 300mm diameter water main supplying the CPUT campus on Thursday
The City’s Water and Sanitation Department will be completing the installation of an isolation valve on the 300mm diameter water main supplying the CPUT campus on Thursday,18 February 2021. This will require that water to the Sacks Circle area be turned off. It will help to avoid a repeat of the incident at the weekend, where the City was unfortunately forced to shut off supply to businesses in the area when a CPUT contractor experienced some challenges while working on campus to rehabilitate their water mains.
The disruption of the water supply to the Sacks Circle industrial area will be from 09:00 until 16:00.
Companies are kindly requested to ensure that their water storage tanks have sufficient capacity for this period. Tankers will be roaming the Sacks Circle area to provide water where required
The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused, but this work will help minimise supply disruptions in the longer term.
