Zandvlei Estuary Nature Reserve is within walking distance of Steenberg and Lakeside Station. The reserve has an Environmental Education Centre that offers various programmes for learners.
The reserve has a jetty, bird hides and picnics sites, and offers the opportunity for activities such as boating, walking and windsurfing.
The Friends of the Zandvlei Trust help with conservation, education and awareness projects.
